We use Google Calendars for our work, with each of us having a personal calendar and the team sharing a few additional calendars:
P2PU Events: Regular team meetings
P2PU Editorial: Schedule for planning events
Staff Travel / Vacation: Time away from the office
P2PU Community Calendar: Our public-facing events calendar (AddEvent)
P2PU Teams Membership Calendar: Our calendar for membership-only events (AddEvent)
A few internal scheduling practices we encourage:
Use the RSVP feature to indicate whether youβre able to join or not. Generally, if something comes up and you canβt join a previously scheduled meeting, you should propose an alternate time.
Share your personal work calendar with the team and keep it up to date, so that colleagues can schedule meetings with you. There is no need to share the details of everything in your calendar with the whole team, but at least blocked time should be expected.
For the time being, we need to be logging leave/vacation both on the Google Calendar and the Travel & Time Off Sheet
Encouraged practices for managing AddEvent calendars:
New events: Activate RSVPs and set automated reminders for 1 hour
For public-facing events, use: meet.google.com/vns-whqb-hva
